What is Window Vista?

Windows Vista is the new release of Microsoft Windows. Windows Vista promises new and improved security features, more manageability, greater PC performance, and an enhanced user interface.

Looks Different…The new slicker user interface is the first thing users will notice. Called Aero it offers high definition graphics and the appearance of see through glass on the desktop. The new release also helps to keep the desktop better organised with less clutter.

Is Different… Microsoft claim Windows Vista runs faster and is more reliable, makes applications more reliable, recovers faster, recovers automatically, to reduce the number of restarts and includes built in diagnostics.

What will Windows Vista run on?

Any Windows XP based computer labelled “Windows Vista Capable” or “Windows Vista Premium Ready” can be upgraded to Windows Vista. The difference between the two labels is the level of Windows Vista experience provided.

With Vista Capable the core Windows Vista experience will be delivered offering greater performance in organising and finding information and greater security and reliability.

On a full Windows Vista Premium Ready PC users can enjoy the full Vista experience including Windows Aero.
