MWR Solicitors
MWR Solicitors is one of Lancashire longest serving law firms. Since 1929, MWR has been highly regarded for their quality of legal advice, their people, their value and their work ethic. They have a national presence and they are recognised for their personal and expert approach to the legal issues facing clients.
Requirement
Shift F7 supplied, installed, and configured the current IT infrastructure in 2001 and have been providing 2nd line support to the in-house IT team since that time. As part of an overall refresh plan for the infrastructure, it was decided that the Citrix element should be performed first due to the cessation of support for Citrix Metaframe XP by Citrix.
Implementation
Rather than upgrade the existing Citrix server, it was decided that Citrix Presentation Server 4 should be deployed on a new server as part of the overall plan to refresh the server estate. The new server was built and initially configured and tested off-site to minimise the disruption to MWR staff and operations. On-site the server was installed and required user applications installed. After further acceptance testing the existing and new server roles were exchanged making the PS4 Citrix server the ‘live’ production server.
